After months of extremely hard work, I rendered out the full animation for the Fun Palace project.
‘Mission X’ is a film based on the Fun Palace project, which takes a speculative trip through the museum of space exploration and theoretical physics. It proposes an environment that marries Augmented Reality, projections and light distortions with more traditional elements of a scientific museum to produce an immersive experience.
The film follows a series of ‘beings’ that see in the hidden dimension of augmented reality, revealing the full potential of the performing Fun Palace. Like the building itself, the deeper you get into the film, the more conceptual and speculative it gets.
Although I was unable to create every scene I had sketched out, due to a pressured schedule and the need to do lots of experimental animations, I am happy with the essence of the film, projecting ideas developed over the last months.
